Theme: “Love Your Neighbour”Inspired by Galatians 5:14: “For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.”
In a world facing environmental challenges, conflict, misinformation, and injustice, this theme invites us to explore the transformative power of love—through both our speech and our actions, as encouraged in James 1:22: “Be doers of the word, and not hearers only.”
Ways to Get Involved:
- Offer Support Locally: Organize a community service initiative to meet local needs. This could include showing solidarity with refugees or migrants.
- Extend a Warm Welcome: Invite members of your local community or those who use your meeting space to join in. Use the provided poster (with British-English spelling) to help spread the word.
- Share the Message of Love: Host a learning session, intergenerational worship, or children’s activity focused on the theme “Love your neighbour,” a phrase that appears eight times in the Bible.
- Engage with Other Faith Groups: Arrange a visit to a nearby place of worship to share greetings, and consider inviting them to visit your meeting in return.
- Strengthen Global Quaker Connections: Connect with Friends in other countries through virtual or in-person visits, letter exchanges, shared prayers, or learning about each other’s worship practices.

At the North Canberra Meeting House, Canberra & Region Quakers will make the most of the morning tea period between Meeting for Worship and Meeting for Worship for Business to reflect upon this theme and upon the world wide family of Friends.
