Quakers Australia recently sent the Australian Government a letter urging immediate action against the genocide in Gaza as it is Australia’s duty under international law.
Quakers Australia formally support this call and urge the Australian Government to take action according to our legal duty under the Genocide Convention to prevent genocide. We
call for:
• An immediate, permanent ceasefire and full humanitarian access.
• Robust, targeted and time-bound sanctions, including a comprehensive arms embargo.
• Action to enforce rulings of the International Court of Justice and International Criminal Court.
• Protection of free speech about the situation in Palestine.
• Dismantling of oppression and establishing of a just and permanent peace
