First Nations People Talk About the Importance of a Voice

“With the referendum on the Voice to Parliament now only one day away, we wanted to tell you again about the first episode, in which several First Nations speakers talk about the importance of a Voice.”

From Raising Peace – Celebrating Peace (https://raisingpeace.org.au/ ):

“A couple of weeks ago the Raising Peace podcast was launched. With the referendum on the Voice to Parliament now only one day away, we wanted to tell you again about the first episode, in which several First Nations speakers talk about the importance of a Voice.

First recorded in 2022, our speakers, led off by Aunty Ali Golding (see featured image), gave a series of impassioned arguments for the Voice. They speak from historical, personal, legal and ethical perspectives that together make a compelling argument.

If you need a bit of help to persuade a reluctant friend, or simply to bolster your own thinking, we hope this will help. Whatever happens this weekend, the struggle of First Nations to be heard will continue.

You can subscribe to the podcast by searching for ‘Raising Peace’ in your preferred podcasting app, or you can listen on our website: https://raisingpeace.org.au/resources/

We hope you find it valuable. Our second episode will be available later this month. Meanwhile there is a wealth of material for you to explore on our website, including the recordings from our 2023 Raising Peace Festival.”
