Artificial Intelligence: Prospects, Entrepreneurs and Ethics — A Hybrid Event

April 17 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

$5.00 – $20.00
From Conversations at the Crossroads, Professor Joe Camilleri:

“When you hear the term artificial intelligence (AI), you’re probably thinking of self-driving cars, robots, ChatGPT, other AI chatbots, and artificially created images. But there is so much more to it than that

AI is an idea that has been around formally since the 1950s. It usually refers to a machine’s ability to perform a task that would have previously required human intelligence.

If applied wisely and ethically, AI can lead to extraordinary progress and achievements in medicine, technology, education and more. But research and application are now moving at such speed, that the public conversation has fallen way behind the actual use of AI technologies, let alone the developments that are to come over the next ten years.

What kind of world is in store for us? What is the world we would like to see? Can we secure the many advantages of AI without the risks that loom large in the minds of many.

These are just some of the questions we hope to explore at a major public Forum on Wednesday 17 April. With so much at stake, this is a conversation we dare not avoid. Please alert everyone in your network. I hope to see you and friends, either online or in person.”
