This is an exclusive briefing with Francesca Albanese, UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territories as she discusses her investigations and recommendations on the crisis as an independent expert.
On 26 March 2024, Francesca presented her report Anatomy of a Genocide, to the 55th session of the Human Rights Council in which she concludes: ‘There are reasonable grounds to believe that the threshold indicating the commission of the crime of genocide has been met.’
Francesca will discuss this report in more detail, as well as the role that Australia and we, as individuals, can play to demand a ceasefire, immediate humanitarian aid access, the release of civilian hostages unharmed, and an International Criminal Court investigation.
