AYM Epistles to Brummana & Ramallah Schools + Quaker Communities

The Australian Yearly Meeting (AYM) in July the Australian Quaker Community decided to send Friends in both Lebanon and Palestine a letter of love and solidarity.

Epistle from AYM to Brummana School and Quaker community

To all our friends in the Brummana School and Quaker community, Australian Friends gathered in Adelaide for our Yearly Meeting in July 2024, send loving greetings to you all.
We are aware that Israel’s military actions are not only causing catastrophic harm in Gaza, but also extends throughout Palestine and into Lebanon. We imagine this is a very difficult time for you all.

We hold you and your important work in the Light at this time of extreme suffering. We acknowledge your vital contribution to education and the life of the Spirit in Lebanon. We pray for a
just peace in Palestine and throughout the Middle East, and commit ourselves to working for freedom, human rights and self-determination for us all.

Epistle from AYM to Ramallah Friends & school

To all our Ramallah Friends and the Ramallah Friends School community, Australian Friends gathered in Adelaide for our Yearly Meeting in July 2024, send loving greetings to
you all.

We are acutely aware of the escalating violence and restrictions imposed on Palestinians in the West Bank. We share your anguish as Palestinians in Gaza have their homes and lives ripped apart by relentless military assaults, constant forced displacement and the denials of the necessities of life.
We hold you in the Light at this time of extreme suffering. We pray for a just peace in Palestine, and commit ourselves to working for freedom, human rights and self-determination for us all.

Your message of  “Peace and Justice”  is shared by all the peace-loving people of the world and it is our hope that one day the whole world and its leaders will embrace it…”
David Gray, Principal, Brummana High School
“Thank you very much for your kind expressions of support and of concern to those who are suffering the consequences of conflict in the Middle East.
