The current situation in Palestine and Israel has been deeply distressing to many Friends. A session at Yearly Meeting to discuss this together as Quakers was well attended and provided a space for deep reflection. It seemed right to offer this as an online session to allow more Friends to join this conversation.
This online session will be held in a worship sharing format to explore questions of impartiality, peace with justice, and what it means to nonviolently resist structural violence. We will draw on the words of Quaker Peacemakers, including Palestinian Quaker Jean Zaru, and use some guiding queries to explore these ideas and questions together.
